We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who voiced their concerns regarding stormwater runoff to the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). Your active participation underscores the community's commitment to protecting our precious Hill Country.
To further illustrate the challenges of managing stormwater runoff at the proposed quarry site, please refer to the images below. They highlight the potential for uncontrolled runoff, which poses a risk of carrying silt and contaminants into Peter's Creek. This creek flows through the federal fish hatchery and ultimately into Lake LBJ, a vital source of drinking water for the Austin area.
It is Sad that the LCRA did not recognize these risks and take appropriate measures to prevent environmental degradation and protect our water resources. LCRA approved the Permit for Asphalt inc. in June 2025.

Peters Creek feeds the natural pool at the youth camp which shares a fence line with the proposed Rock Crushing Facility

Picture
Both Peters Creek and Spring Creek have violent and uncontrollable amounts of water that channel the rain from the proposed rock crusher site. When heavy rains hit, nothing on the ground is safe... it all get washed into Inks Lake and Lake LBJ. If the Rock Crusher is allowed to  operate there will be tons of silt & contaminates that will now be washed into our lakes.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
